Job Description

Ave Maria is a NDIS registered, locally owned organisation based in Illawarra. We are looking for Disability support workers for our group home near Wollongong which provides 24/7 care to people with mild-moderate disability.
We are looking for motivated and passionate applicants to provide direct support and make a difference in the lives of people with disability. Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Supporting the participant with their personal care needs. Offer person centered support and care to aid participants independence, health and well-being. Encouraging participants involvement within the community and assisting them to achieve their goals and making their life as fulfilling as possible. Maintain service user privacy and confidentiality and treat in a non-discriminatory manner. Comply with Ave Maria’s Policies/procedures. Comply with NDIA Code of Conduct. Completing daily progress notes/ risk assessments/ care plans and provide comprehensive handover to other members of the team .Maintain the cleanness of the property and premises .
Skills & Experience Required Qualifications:
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Mental Health, Community Welfare or similar OR willing to enroll upon commencement of job -
A strong desire to work people with disability. -
Minimum of 20 hours per week availability
Must be available to work flexibly across the day (shifts could include shorter or longer shifts and can vary between AM, PM and Night shifts)
Comply with Organisation policies and procedures
Initiative and drive to work independently as well as part of a team
Current National Criminal History record check certificate (dated within the last 6 months)
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) certificate
Current first aid (dated within the last 3 years) & CPR certificate (dated within the last 12 months) or willing to get prior to joining.
Excellent communication and proven computer skills
Current Australia’s Drivers' License to a reliable/registered and insured vehicle
2 professional industry reference checks
