Job title - Nursing Resource Coordinator
Job Description
Provides a recognised reference point and consistent broad level of influence regarding service planning and

delivery to multi-disciplinary clinicians across a defined practice area.

Context Statement: Nurse Resource Co-ordinators are responsible for addressing all emergent Nursing & Midwifery Services

workforce deficits on a shift-by-shift basis and for overall hospital management and coordination outside of business hours.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Uses expert professional clinical and management knowledge and experience to lead the coordination and integration of a diverse

range of programs and strategies, including multidisciplinary, financial and human resource programs, across the Health Service.

2. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in

order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

3. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

Selection Criteria

Essential:
1. Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.

2. Demonstrated high-level leadership and managerial skills including strategic thinking, practical people management and the ability

to successfully support change in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.

3. Demonstrate collaboratively, initiating, developing, implementing and evaluating service delivery, protocols/ standards, harm

minimisation strategies and quality benchmarks across multi-disciplinary working groups.

4. Demonstrated use of excellent communication skills to maximise productive working relationships including with relevant

executive management and the multidisciplinary team, and to manage conflict to promote co-operation, teamwork and

understanding in undertaking challenging, demanding and complex work.

5. Demonstrated contribution to the dissemination of nursing/midwifery knowledge at the local and Territory level.

6. Demonstrated and applies highly developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and

sensitivities that influence health care and delivery of service programs for individuals and groups.

Desirable :
1. Masters degree beyond entry-to-practice in speciality area of clinical nursing/ midwifery.

1. Department of Health has a Smoke Free Policy. Staff are not permitted to smoke anywhere on Departmental premises, facilities

2. The preferred or recommended applicant will be required to hold a current working with children clearance notice and undergo a

criminal history check. A criminal history will not exclude an applicant from this position unless it is relevant to the position.

3. This role carries specific immunisation requirements. To be eligible for appointment you will be required to meet the immunisation

requirements associated with Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances) OR Category B (clinical contact, indirect
