ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will lead the establishment of the new Elder Abuse Service, a client-centred, multi-disciplinary model of legal service delivery to provide targeted, holistic , wrap-around legal and other services to older people identified as experiencing or at risk of abuse. You will provide management, direction and leadership of the team to deliver the goals of the service and develop and maintain high level relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. You will implement systems for data governance to comply with strict reporting requirements and frameworks of external funding bodies and identify strategic case work in response to public interest or systemic issues.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a dynamic, experienced lawyer and manager who has worked with vulnerable older people in various areas of law relevant to their legal needs. You will have the demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and lead a diverse team of lawyers and allied professionals to achieve set goals. You will be a strong team player who can work collaboratively to develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships. Ideally, you will have a passion for working with older people experiencing or at risk of abuse and a background in social services or health.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Admission or eligibility for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW
Ability to provide a valid Practising Certificate upon commencement
Willingness to undertake a Criminal Record Check and/or working with Children Check
Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Resident or hold a valid working visa
Capacity to work in a generalist practice framework across civil, criminal and family law, with professional supervision and training.
