The Opportunity

Well-known Energy Group, constantly growing & diversifying, have an exciting opportunity in their Commercial Risk & Insurance team for an Account Executive seeking a move out of a Broker, Insurer, Underwriter or Risk team. If you enjoy connecting with the business, liaising and building relationships with external advisers, and applying your risk mindset and insurance knowledge in a fast paced environment - this is a great transition opportunity into a commercial insurance function in a highly respected corporate.

The Role

The Insurance team sits in Financial Control and working in a team of 2, the Insurance Officer supports the Insurance Manager in the management & administration of insurance programmes, contract risk and incident reporting. This requires a risk mindset and curious, strategic approach - proactively engaging with the business and working closely with the procurement & legal teams.

Key Responsibilities:


Assist in the administration of the insurance programmes including property, motor, contract works, crime, travel, personal accident, workers compensation, non-owned aviation etc
Follow up with brokers/insurers on policy documentation
Assist in the compilation of liability submissions
Assist in the collation and submission of risk information for all general lines of insurance
Assist in the management of insurance claims Risk Management

Assist with risk review of renewal and tender contract documents.
Maintain a register of contract reviews Other

Provide assistance and support to Business Units on risk & insurance matters
Assist with development and maintenance of key insurance and risk deliverables register.
Monitor action plans to ensure that actions are completed and timeframes met

The Ideal Candidate

Tertiary qualification in Business, Insurance, or Risk Management or other relevant discipline.
Formally accredited training in insurance or risk management or related discipline
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an insurance role with a broker, underwriter, or insurance and risk team.
Previous experience in the risk analysis of contracts and agreements is a benefit.
Knowledge of insurance principles and the concepts of liability and indemnity
Understanding of risk management principles and practices
Ability to analyse company insurance programme/contract risk management requirements
Ability to identify insurance/contract risk management issues and provide solutions
Ability to undertake risk assessments with respect to contracts and insurance matters
Ability to prioritise and deliver projects within set timeframes Most importantly to fit the culture you will be someone who is team oriented, with excellent communication skills, a self-motivated approach, ability to adapt, have influence & make an impact.

The role is based in CBD however does require some travel to suburban and regional Victoria locations.

Salary is $80-95K package plus bonus
