Job Description

Teacher/Education Officer(Job Number: 2000008J)

Be part of a dedicated team of teaching professionals delivering RACQ’s award-winning road safety education programs to schools across Central Queensland. Use your expert classroom teaching skills to facilitate learning and influence positive road safety behaviour in both primary and secondary school students. This position will focus on collaborating with your team, other RACQ stakeholders, Government Departments, school and community groups to coordinate, schedule and implement our signature education programs – Streets Ahead and Docudrama
This is a full-time, contract role until December 2021 based in Rockhampton. It will include travel throughout regional Central and North Queensland four times per year, for up to a week at a time. Standard working hours (8:30am to 5pm) apply with slight variations to start/finish time as required.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Demonstrated experience in presenting in-classroom education programs to a variety of target audiences
Tertiary qualification in Education
Current open C class Driver Licence
Suitability to Work with Children Card (Blue Card)

Some common questions we are asked. Hours worked; this is a full-time role made up of 37.5 hours a week. There is flexibility in the structure of the hours around; in classroom contact hours and office-based hours and individual flexibility requirements that can be discussed with each individual during their application process. Salary package; is industry appropriate and commensurate to each applicant’s teaching experience and will be reviewed and discussed with each individual applicant during the application process after a resume and cover letter have been submitted by the individual applicant. The contract length is aligned to the funding arrangement. Contract completion is set to run until December 2021 at this stage.
